Frequently Asked Questions

When is your next book coming out?

The second book in the Diviner's Legacy series, In the Case of Our Fate, is set to be released for global distribution on November 9th, 2021.

Can I purchase multiple copies of your book at a discounted rate?

Yes! Currently When the Divine Are Dead is the only book where purchasing multiple copies (in bulk) at a discounted rate is possible. Purchases will need to go through Ingram iPage (You can copy & paste this link: https://ipage.ingramcontent.com/ipage/li001.jsp) to set up or login to your account. Amazon may also allow bulk purchases for those with certain business accounts.

Are your books available in bookstores?

When the Divine Are Dead is currently available to purchase online at many book retailers. It is unlikely; however, not impossible, to find it on the shelves in physical bookstores. I currently do not have a consignment contract with a specific bookstore, but that doesn't mean that nobody sells it. Many booksellers will order a copy for you if they don't have it in stock.

Why can't I purchase the Brunswick Saga books anymore?

The Brunswick Saga books (A Brother's Sacrifice and A Sister's Imposition) are currently out of print. However, chapters of these books written from 1st-person point-of-view are available on www.thebrunswicksaga.wordpress.com to read for free.

Do you have any suggestions for diabetes charities/organizations I can donate to?

I do not currently provide a pre-approved list of charities or organizations for diabetes charities or organizations. It can be difficult to narrow the list of nonprofits to organizations that benefit people with diabetes more than the organization itself. However, Healthline noted several charities back in 2017 that may be good choices like— 1. The Children's Diabetes Foundation 2. The diaTribe Foundation 3. DiabetesSisters 4. Diabetes Hands Foundation 5. JDRF 6. The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRI) 7. The American Diabetes Association 8. The Joslin Diabetes Center 9. Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD) 10. Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation

What/Who are your sources for the information about the Romani people in your writing?

It is important to note that much of the cultural information I utilize in the Diviner's Legacy series does not reflect the cultural practices or beliefs of all Romani people. Because the diviners (who are fictional) come from a variety of vitsas (Romani subgroups), there tends to be a mix of practices and beliefs among them. This can be noticed, however subtly, in the differences between several characters and their families. Some characters come from more conservative and/or traditional backgrounds than others. As for my sources, I continue to gather information from a variety of Romani people, some who live in and outside the US and who identify as Sinti, Romanichal, Kalderash, etc. Many of them are mixed and several are considered outcasts for a variety of reasons.

Do you donate to any charities?

In the summer of 2021, I donated a portion of my proceeds to a charity every month. Here is the complete list— 1. June 2021 - A Safe Place for Trans Gypsies & Travellers (GoFundMe) (Link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-buy-a-house-for-possibly-a-lot-of-people) 2. July 2021 - Children's Diabetes Foundation (Area of Greatest Need) (Link: https://www.childrensdiabetesfoundation.org/) 3. August 2021 - IVAT: The Institute on Violence, Abuse, & Trauma (Link: https://www.ivatcenters.org/)

I am a teacher. Can I teach your books to my class?

The short answer is YES! However, there are no pre-made lesson plans, worksheets, and activities available for you to utilize as of this moment. When the Divine Are Dead has been recommended by educators to older high school readers who can handle violence. Please be wary of sensitive content before presenting it to all students.

What kind of events do you do?

I am available for book signings, interviews, and classroom visits. However, I am currently limited to local events (physically) in the U.S. states of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, & Iowa. These events are currently free to schedule. Please use my contact page to schedule an event.
